Rangers summer signings rated — Djeidi Gassama transfer bargain as 2/10 stinks
Kevin Thelwell was at the forefront as Rangers underwent a significant overhaul under Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises.
Derek Cornelius became the last player to arrive at Ibrox before the 11pm deadline on 1 September, becoming the 13th new addition at the Gers for the 2025/26 season.
The Light Blues have also seen some significant outgoings recently, with Hamza Igamane signing for LOSC Lille and Cyriel Dessers making a last-minute switch to Panathinaikos.
Russell Martin has now seen what a majority of his new signings are capable of, and will hope some of them can hit the ground running after the international break.

Djeidi Gassama transfer fee worth it at Rangers
Djeidi Gassama signed for the Gers from Sheffield Wednesday in a deal worth £2.2million, which is arguably a bargain after his explosive start to the season in G51.
While Lyall Cameron technically signed a pre-contract at the Light Blues, he can be considered a summer signing and has forced his way into Martin’s plans after some impressive displays.
Oliver Antman’s move from Go Ahead Eagles also looks like a good piece of business from Thelwell, with the forward’s creativity already on show at Ibrox.
- Djeidi Gassama – 9/10
- Lyall Cameron – 8/10
- Oliver Antman – 7/10
- Jayden Meghoma – 7/10
- Emmanuel Fernandez – 5/10
- Joe Rothwell – 4/10
Jayden Meghoma was signed on loan from Brentford to provide cover at left-back and has so far been a solid addition to the team.
While Emmanuel Fernandez has mostly played a backup role at the Glaswegian outfit this season, he hasn’t really disappointed whenever given the opportunity.
As for Joe Rothwell, he started the campaign with some eye-catching performances, but the English midfielder has looked lethargic in recent matches.

Max Aarons has struggled on loan at Ibrox
Max Aarons’ move to Ibrox from Bournemouth hasn’t worked out yet, with the versatile defender unable to convince fans of his talents.
Nasser Djiga started the campaign well for the Gers, looking comfortable with the ball at his feet, but the Wolves loanee has made some major errors of late.
Thelo Aasgaard was on the treatment table for a while before making his debut for the Light Blues, but he hasn’t really caught the attention of many so far.
- Max Aarons – 2/10
- Nasser Djiga – 3/10
- Thelo Aasgaard – 3/10
- Mikey Moore – 4/10
- Youssef Chermiti – 4/10
- Derek Cornelius – 6/10
- Bojan Miovski – 7/10
Rangers also signed Mikey Moore on loan from Tottenham, but the 18-year-old is yet to show the full extent of his talent in Scotland.
The Gers have invested a hefty sum in signing Youssef Chermiti, who struggled to stay fit at Everton, but the arrival of Bojan Miovski seems like a decent addition to bolster the attack.
Cornelius will undoubtedly be a key player for the Glaswegian outfit next season due to his versatility at centre-back and left-back, although the verdict is still out on most of the new signings at Ibrox.
