Celtic should be ashamed by what Rangers fans now think – ‘The most embarrassing thing…’
Rangers have had a torrid season so far, as cries for Russell Martin’s sacking continue.
Martin’s side are yet to win in the Scottish Premiership, and Rangers’ boring 0-0 showdown with Celtic highlighted just how poor both sides have worryingly become.
Rangers lost their best striker, Cyriel Dessers, on deadline day, and so did their Old Firm rivals, who sold Adam Idah to Swansea.
Rangers replaced Dessers with Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski, whereas their arch-rivals only managed to sign Kelechi Iheanacho, which has led to outrage at Parkhead.

Rangers fans ‘believe there could be a title race again’
Recruitment has let both sides down this summer. Celtic have not made enough new signings, and Rangers have had too many failures so far.
The likes of Joe Rothwell coming in have upset the apple cart, which made Nico Raskin eager to leave Ibrox, with Max Aarons also failing.
Eventually, the Belgium international stayed, but there is no guarantee that he won’t leave in January.
Despite all the negativity on and off the pitch, Celtic are also all out of sorts, which has renewed hopes that the Gers can get back on track this season.

Calum Crowe, writing for the print edition of the Scottish Daily Mail, believes that Celtic should be ashamed as a new feeling emerges in Glasgow.
He wrote: “The most embarrassing thing of all for Celtic should be the fact that some Rangers fans believe there could be a title race again.
“Even Hearts are daring to dream. What [Brendan] Rodgers wants compared to what the club are willing to give him is miles apart.”
For all of the Light Blues’ flaws this season, at least they were ready to spend big to sign a replacement striker on deadline day, unlike Celtic did with Iheanacho.
The push for the title is still on, but the 49ers must make some big decisions if they are going to win it for the first time in five years.

Rangers should sack Russell Martin if they are to win the title
Rangers already appear to have missed the boat when it comes to sacking Martin, but it is clear that with him in charge, they won’t win the title.
Boring and laboured football has never suited those at the top of the Scottish Premiership, and that won’t change this season.
Unfortunately for the Light Blues, they have most of Martin’s signings embedded in the squad, which will make it even more difficult when a new manager inevitably comes in.
With the international break now in full swing, it would be the perfect opportunity to offload the former Southampton boss, but it appears to be an opportunity Rangers won’t take.
It is a matter of when, not if, Martin gets sacked after the Rangers supporters group released a statement calling for his departure.
