Nico Raskin to be ‘sold at 11th-hour’ as cut-price Rangers transfer now on cards
Nico Raskin somehow looks likely to leave Rangers before the transfer deadline.
As expected, Raskin was absent for the Old Firm Derby as he looks set to be bombed out, with Crystal Palace and Wolves linked.
Indeed, Russell Martin has been backed by senior Rangers players to axe Raskin from his squad due to his conduct behind the scenes.
Now, it seems that the Belgium international will be allowed to leave Ibrox for a reduced fee before the transfer deadline on Monday.

No way back for Nico Raskin at Rangers
Rangers played out an underwhelming 0-0 draw with Celtic as both teams’ recent struggles came to the fore on Sunday afternoon.
Martin fielded Mohamed Diomande and Connor Barron in central midfield, while Raskin was nowhere to be seen.
The Belgian has been a star performer for the Gers, but like many of the old guard, he is expected to be moved on amid Martin’s arrival.
Now, the 24-year-old will likely be sold at the 11th hour, probably for a knock-down fee, the Daily Record’s Keith Jackson has suggested on 1 September.
He says that it looks as if there is no way back for Raskin under the current management.

How much could the Ibrox club get for Nico Raskin?
Raskin arrived from Standard Liege for just over £1million in January 2023.
The central midfielder has since gone on to make over 100 appearances for the Glasgow club and has been a stellar performer.
Indeed, he was named Rangers’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for his exploits last season.

It is understood that the Bears would sanction a loan with a mandatory option to buy the Belgian.
So far this window, the Glasgow club have yielded a profit on several players and would look to do the same with Raskin.
Given that he is a Belgian international and playing in the prime of his career, they should be pushing towards eight figures.
However, with news that he could leave in a cut-price deal, it seems he could be sold on the cheap.
