Celtic now ‘serious late players’ to beat Rangers to last-ditch deal with Crystal Palace
Rangers are still pursuing several deals ahead of the transfer deadline at 11 pm, but rivals Celtic are now trying to beat them to one target.
Youssef Chermiti is set to join from Everton to strengthen the options at centre-forward, while several wide options already joined this summer in Mikey Moore and Djeidi Gassama.
Rangers have struggled for goals under Russell Martin, and more firepower could still be targeted before the deadline after a woeful start to the season.
It was recently reported that Crystal Palace sensation Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was being targeted for a late move, but Celtic now appear to have pulled ahead in the race.

Celtic pull ahead of Rangers for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi
Rak-Sakyi has been targeted as a right-winger to join Rangers’ current options, but Celtic are also in hot pursuit of the 22-year-old.
Journalist Alan Nixon has now reported on his Patreon that Celtic are “serious late players” in the race to sign the winger, and that he is more tempted to join them than Championship side Leicester City.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
EFL Championship | 34 | 7 | 2 |
Rak-Sakyi spent last season on loan at Sheffield United, and is set for a move away to feature regularly, with Rangers very keen earlier in the window.
The winger has thrived in the Championship before, but is now eager to move to Scotland with Celtic in order to play regularly, and while Rangers are still in the race, it appears that the Hoops have the upper hand.

Rangers face frustration over Jesurun Rak-Sakyi
Rak-Sakyi would be a strong addition for Rangers, who started with Moore on the left and Gassama on the right in their 0-0 draw with Celtic in the Old Firm.
If he joins Celtic, it would be frustrating for Rangers to lose a big target to their biggest rivals, and it is unclear who else could come in on the right wing before the deadline.
Oliver Antman has had a mixed start to his Rangers career so far, and additional firepower would have been very much welcomed at Ibrox.
