Rangers make last-gasp bid to seal Jesurun Rak-Sakyi transfer, Celtic battle ready

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi could become a Rangers player after all, ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

Rangers are all but set for what could be a busy transfer deadline day, with Youssef Chermiti one of those expected to seal a move to Ibrox.

His multi-million pound transfer from Everton is just one of several deals Rangers have been linked with ahead of the deadline.

Now, it seems as though the Light Blues will be in the market for yet another winger arrival, with the latest update on Rak-Sakyi, who has been linked with Rangers all summer.

Celtic and Rangers make late approach for Rak-Sakyi loan

Rangers were quoted around £10million to sign Rak-Sakyi earlier this summer, and unsurprisingly, nothing came of the deal.

However, according to Sky Sports reporter Cristopher Reidy via X, the Gers are testing the waters again with a loan offer made to Crystal Palace.

Celtic, who were held to a 0-0 draw by Rangers on Sunday, have also made an approach, with interest from English clubs also emerging in the final stages of the window.

Rak-Sakyi has failed to make an appearance for Crystal Palace since returning from loan this summer.

The 22-year-old spent the last campaign out on loan at Sheffield United, where he registered nine goal contributions in 36 appearances.

Where would Jesurun Rak-Sakyi fit in at Rangers?

Rak-Sakyi is typically a right-winger, though his main attributes would certainly allow him to thrive in various attacking positions.

His pace and trickery on the ball are his key assets, and that is something that Rangers need more of if they are to turn their early-season fortunes around.

Russell Martin is under serious pressure at Ibrox, and he needs all the help he can get in the transfer window to make anything of his time in Glasgow.

With Celtic also keen, it remains to be seen how hard Rangers are willing to push for this transfer, but after weeks and weeks of speculation surrounding a move, it would make little sense for the Gers to cave in and accept defeat at this stage in the window.
