Chris Sutton rages at ‘stupid’ Findlay Curtis incident in Rangers vs Celtic
Rangers were nearly gifted a chance to take all three points in Sunday’s Old Firm Derby.
Russell Martin’s winless run in the Scottish Premiership continued on Sunday afternoon, with Rangers forced to settle for a 0-0 draw at home to Celtic.
All in all, it was a game that had very little quality in the forward areas, though it certainly provided several contentious incidents.
One of those incidents involved Rangers starlet Curtis, and it left Chris Sutton incandescent with fury in the latter stages of the clash at Ibrox.

Brendan Rodgers will have been furious with Marcelo Sarrachi
With the pressure mounting on Martin at Rangers, a point is far from ideal, and it could have been a very different story.
In the 86th minute, Marcelo Sarrachi committed a needless foul on Rangers youngster Curtis, with a free kick awarded as a result.
Curtis was going nowhere, and yet the Boca Juniors loanee lunged into a challenge that could have very easily cost Celtic the game.
Rangers’ stats vs Celtic.
- 41% possession
- 0 shots on target
- 0.15 xG
- 72% pass accuracy
Reacting immediately to the incident live on Sky Sports Football, Sutton said: “Done well there, Findlay Curtis, he knows exactly what he’s doing there.
“Making sure he just gets in front, it’s just a really stupid foul to give away.”
The foul led to nothing of note for the Light Blues, but it could have been a very costly lapse of concentration for Celtic on another day, and Brendan Rodgers will be furious that it nearly cost them a valuable away point.

Rangers take a point, Russell Martin edges closer to sack
A point at home to Celtic isn’t the end of the world, but in the grander scheme of things, it’s another poor result for Rangers, and in particular, Martin.
Martin is already walking a metaphorical tightrope at Ibrox, and to have gone yet another league game without a win will do nothing but support the claims that he should be sacked.
Once again, Rangers lacked any identity against Celtic, with the Light Blues faithful showcasing their displeasure with boos at the final whistle.
The 49ers have a decision to make on Martin, and with results going the way that they are, it is looking like it is a very easy one, though it remains to be seen whether they have the nerve to accept the fact that they made a mistake by hiring him in the first place.
