Rangers deal to sign Youssef Chermiti ‘virtually done’ amid Ibrox transfer chaos

Rangers have been heavily linked with Youssef Chermiti throughout the past week.

The Everton striker has struggled in Merseyside and is yet to find the back of the net.

Therefore, Russell Martin is prepared to give the 21-year-old and way out, with Rangers looking to sign Chermiti before the transfer window closes.

Reports on Friday suggested that talks were advanced between Everton and Rangers for Chermiti.

Now, the transfer saga has developed further ahead of Monday’s deadline day.

Rangers are in the final stages on Youssef Chermiti deal

With deadline day looming, multiple deals are expected at Rangers, in the final few days.

Bojan Miovski is expected to sign for Rangers shortly, ending his brief spell in Spain.

Now, according to Mike McGrath via X on 30 August, the Gers are now in the final stages of completing a deal for Portuguese striker Chermiti.

The post states that a deal is “virtually agreed” as Rangers look to quickly finalise the transfer.

Russell Martin in transfer chaos going into deadline day

While Rangers are closing in on multiple new additions before deadline day, at Ibrox, chaos is unfolding.

Nicolas Raskin is set to be dropped by Rangers for the Old Firm derby amid rumours that the midfielder is not fully committed to the Gers.

This news comes just shortly after Hamza Igamane was allowed to leave Ibrox for Lille after refusing to come on against St. Mirren.

With Rangers in such poor form at the moment, it remains to be seen if Martin is able to steady the ship before his job comes under serious threat.

Hopefully, the additions of Miovski and Chermiti will fix the Gers’ striker issues and help them quickly climb up the Scottish Premiership table.
