How much Aberdeen will make from Bojan Miovski’s move to Rangers revealed

Rangers have completed the signing of North Macedonia striker Bojan Miovski from Girona.

Miovski has completed a medical ahead of joining Rangers as Russell Martin looks to add forward depth to his squad at Ibrox.

This comes after Rangers confirmed the sale of Hamza Igamane to Lille after a controversial end to an otherwise excellent spell in Govan.

With that being said, the £2.6million signing of Miovski at Rangers could prove to be a shrewd piece of business based on his Scottish Premiership experience.

The question surrounding the deal has been how much of a fee Aberdeen will receive from the Miovski sale after his exit last summer.

Aberdeen sell-on clause assessed in Bojan Miovski deal

It is fair to say that the North Macedonia international was sensational at times throughout his spell with the Dons, sparking interest from LaLiga.

Bojan Miovski was excellent for Aberdeen

Things haven’t worked out for Miovski in Girona, sparking Rangers’ interest in a return to Scottish football for this campaign.

The downside to this is the chance that this could have benefitted a direct league rival, should Aberdeen have a sell-on clause in his deal with the Spanish outfit.

As a result, the Light Blues will be delighted to learn that this isn’t the case as a deal for the versatile forward looks set to go through.

Scott Burns reported on 30 August that the Pittodrie club won’t get a sell-on clause fee from Miovski ahead of his move to Spain.

They would have been handed 20 per cent of any profit made by Girona, but the sale to Rangers looks set to go through for much less than what they initially paid 12 months ago.

Rangers are sole benefactors from Bojan Miovski signing

The signing of the Macedonian has already been received well by supporters in Govan, as they await an official announcement from the Light Blues.

This will especially be the case now after the news that Aberdeen’s sell-on won’t be activated by this deal before the 1 September deadline.

The potential of funding further deals for the Dons would have been a drawback, but that won’t be the case now.

Martin and Co. will be hoping that this can represent a boost to the Gers, especially ahead of the Old Firm derby against Celtic coming up.
