Rangers ‘almost forced’ to accept Jefte transfer, they could not turn it down
Rangers have taken a stubborn stance in the transfer market when it comes to selling players.
Jefte was recently sold to Brazilian club Palmeiras just a year after signing from Fluminense, with the Light Bears securing millions in profit.
Now, Hamza Igamane is edging towards a Rangers exit after a deal was finally struck with Lille.
Indeed, the Ibrox club have done an admirable job in acquiring substantial profits on their departed players, which will only help ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday.

This story includes exclusive comment from football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley.
Rangers generate significant funds from Jefte sale
Rangers secured an impressive profit on Jefte, who joined Palmeiras for £6million despite joining the Glasgow club for a mere £800,000.
Now, football finance expert Dan Plumley has weighed in on the details of the defender’s transfer.
“I think that’s the reality of it,” he exclusively told Ibrox News when asked if Rangers had to accept the offer, given the potential profit.
“We’ve said this time and time again with Scottish Football, and it’s very similar to some of those clubs in the Championship in England that we talk about.
- Jefte never made a senior appearance for Fluminense
- He played 56 times for Rangers
- The Brazilian has made his first appearance for Palmeiras
“The finances are very different, and you have to find a way to generate money from player sales like this; it’s not like Rangers can hold clubs to ransom for lots of players.
“It’s a different market, it’s a different model, so if you can generate that kind of significant value in the transfer market with those kinds of buying fees and then sell on for a decent profit further down the line.
“Given where you’re at in the league at any given point in time, it almost forces your hands.
“You almost can’t turn it down, and that unfortunately is still going to happen at Rangers, just with the finances of Scottish football, and ultimately then dependent on Champions League or not.”

Will the Gers spend the potential earnings from Jefte and Hamza Igamane?
Given that the Gers have raked in £6m from Jefte, with a potential £10.4m set to arrive for Igamane, they will have significant funds on their hands.
While many may think that money will go straight to players, that is not necessarily the case.
However, given how poorly the Bears have performed under Russell Martin, they could delve back into the transfer market.
Whatever happens, it is hard not to admire the terrific work done to move Jefte on for such a profit.
