Junior Dina Ebimbe makes late Rangers transfer call as Ibrox offer officially sent

Rangers are working on several late deals before the transfer window closes on 1 September.

Russell Martin’s side endured a Champions League horror show as they suffered a 6-0 second-leg defeat to Club Brugge on Wednesday.

In the wake of the loss, Kris Boyd suggested that Rangers could make as many as four new signings before the window slams shut.

Now, Frankfurt midfielder Junior Dina Ebimbe has made a late decision on a move to Ibrox, with the first of many offers sent to Germany.

Junior Dina Ebimbe makes Rangers transfer decision

Ebimbe isn’t the only plate that is spinning right now, with Rangers in talks to sign Yousef Chermiti on loan from Everton as the Ibrox club seeks late business.

A wealth of fresh faces have already arrived at the Glasgow outfit, but have endured mixed fates so far.

Djeidi Gassama has impressed for Rangers, with four goals under his belt after signing from Sheffield Wednesday.

On the flip side, Nasser Djiga and Max Aarons have endured early Ibrox nightmares and need to improve fast.

Rangers are not done yet, though, as they made a late move for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Dina Ebimbe.

However, the 24-year-old turned down an offer from the Gers, according to L’Equipe on 28 August.

The midfielder is expected to leave the Bundesliga club this summer, with Frankfurt hoping to secure £5.1million for a permanent deal or a loan with an option to buy.

Why does Russell Martin need even more signings at Ibrox?

While the Bears have already acquired a raft of players, early performances have been concerning.

Martin’s defence has come in for intense scrutiny, with individual errors and collective blunders on display.

Furthermore, players have appeared out of position, with Thelo Aasgaard playing as a sole striker against St Mirren.

Ultimately, some of the new arrivals have not settled in, and some of them have delivered concerning performances.

Like many other sides, Rangers are learning that perhaps not all of their additions are what they hoped for.

Although it will take time for some players to gel, it is understandable that the Gers are aiming to do more business.
