Hamza Igamane medical update emerges in Belgium as Rangers set for multi-million profit

Hamza Igamane looks set to be announced as the next Rangers departure in the coming hours.

LOSC Lille have been consistently linked with Igamane in recent weeks, with the Morocco international travelling for his medical on 27 August.

Russell Martin suffered a humiliating defeat against Club Brugge in the Champions League play-off, with the 22-year-old striker absent from the squad during the 6-0 loss at the Jan Breydel Stadium.

Igamane refused to come on as a substitute against St Mirren in the recent 1-1 draw, and now an update has emerged regarding his assessment.

Rangers to make £8.7m profit as Hamza Igamane undergoes medical

Igamane is expected to join Lille from the Gers in a deal worth £10.4million, according to Anthony Joseph.

The Sky Sports journalist revealed on X on 28 August that the young attacker is currently undergoing his medical in France.

A few hours earlier, the Moroccan star had arrived in Brussels as he closes in on a transfer to the Ligue 1 outfit from Ibrox.

The Light Blues signed the centre-forward for £1.7m last summer, and this deal represents the sort of business they should be pulling off in G51.

Hamza Igamane exit will be followed by Russell Martin sack

Russell Martin claims Patrick Stewart and Kevin Thelwell still back him despite the horrendous defeat against Brugge.

The Scottish manager’s tenure at the Gers has gotten off to an abysmal start, winning just three of his opening 10 games.

In the William Hill Premiership, the Glaswegian outfit have gotten off to their worst start since 1989 with three consecutive draws.

With the Old Firm derby on the horizon, the Celtic game may be make or break for Martin, and a loss should lead to his sacking.

Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe have to show some spine in G51 and admit they got the 39-year-old head coach’s appointment wrong.

Igamane has rightfully been shipped out after his antics against St Mirren, and the Scottish manager can’t continue to get away with his poor performances either.
