Andrew Cavenagh told to sack Rangers board and Russell Martin in brutal Ibrox clear-out
Rangers saw their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League come to an embarrassing end as they were trounced 6-0 by Club Brugge.
Russell Martin’s side slumped to a dismal 9-1 defeat to the Belgian side on aggregate, as they suffered yet more misery amid their hugely frustrating start to the season.
Max Aarons’ early red card left Rangers in the lurch, but they were picked apart time and again by their hosts in what was an extremely long night for them.
Martin’s situation at Ibrox now appears to be grave as the pressure on him continues to mount, and there are many people who feel that the Brugge debacle should be the final straw.

Darrell Currie demands Rangers clear-out
Martin has had a nightmare start at Rangers, and the walls feel as though they are quickly closing in on the 39-year-old.
The Gers have now won just three of their opening 10 games of the campaign in all competitions, and one of those came in the Premier Sports Cup against Alloa Athletic.
They remain winless in the Premiership ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm Derby, and another avenue has now closed on Martin and his side as their European hopes have come crashing to a halt.

It is a concerning situation for Andrew Cavenagh, who will certainly not be oblivious to the frustration that is constantly mounting at Ibrox.
The chairman is likely to have a big decision to make regarding Martin’s situation in the coming weeks, but Darrell Currie does not think that the manager is the only culprit.
The TV presenter has called for both Martin and the Rangers board to be sacked in an angry X post, in which he also called the current situation at the club “embarrassing.”

Andrew Cavenagh has to sack Russell Martin now
Martin’s situation at Rangers has become increasingly clear in the last few games, as there is little evidence to suggest that he has what it takes to turn the team’s fortunes around.
Cavenagh and Co. may well have been waiting for the ideal moment to pull the trigger and hand the boss his marching orders, and they have surely just had it presented to them.
A Champions League exit in that manner should spell the end for any Rangers manager, let alone one who has proven himself to be as incompetent as Martin.
If he is given the boot now, there will at least be the possibility of a reaction which helps to avoid yet more embarrassment in the Old Firm Derby on Sunday.
