Rangers transfer state of play: Done deals and what to expect before window shuts
Rangers still have a lot of work to do in the final few days of the transfer window.
A dark shadow of concern is still lingering over Ibrox, despite all of the changes that have been made in Glasgow over the last few months.
With a new ownership installed, a new manager appointed and several new players added to the roster, optimism levels were high before the season got underway.
Now, winless in the league and with concerns over the future of several players, Russell Martin is already under pressure at Rangers, and needs to see a strong end to the transfer window to have any chance of subduing that threat.

Who have Rangers sold and bought so far this summer?
After last season’s failures, it was evident that Rangers needed to have a huge transfer window, and in terms of incomings, they have.
Eleven new arrivals have landed in Glasgow, with Djeidi Gassama by far the biggest success at Rangers so far.
Oliver Antman has shown glimpses of his quality, while the Light Blues supporters are yet to have a real look at Mikey Moore following his loan arrival from Tottenham
- Oscar Cortes – Permanent from Lens
- Oliver Antman – Permanent from Go Ahead Eagles
- Thelo Aasgard – Permanent from Luton Town
- Emmanuel Fernandez – Permanent from Peterborough
- Djeidi Gassama – Permanent from Sheffield Wednesday
- Joe Rothwell – Permanent from Bournemouth
- Lyall Cameron – Permanent from Dundee
- Mikey Moore – Loan from Tottenham
- Nasser Djiga – Loan from Wolves
- Max Aarons – Loan from Bournemouth
- Jayden Meghoma – Loan from Brentford
However, to accommodate all of these new arrivals, Rangers have also had to shift some of the deadwood that failed to impress last season.
Jefte got a lot of stick at Rangers, while the likes of Leon Balogun have also moved on from Ibrox with him.
Twelve players have left this summer, five of whom were allowed to do so on a free transfer.
- Jefte – Permanent to Palmeiras
- Ridvan Yilmaz – Permanent to Besiktas
- Robin Propper – Permanent to FC Twente
- Cole McKinnon – Free to Airdrieonians
- Leon Balogun – Free to Aris
- Robbie Fraser – To Dunfermline
- Jose Cifuentes – Loan to Toronto
- Ben Davies – Loan to Oxford
- Ross McCausland – Loan to Aris
- Ianis Hagi – Released
- Adam Devine – Released
- Tom Lawrence – Released

What will Rangers do before 1 September transfer deadline?
Just six days remain in the window, showcasing the need for Rangers to accelerate their plans if more business is to be done.
Hamza Igamane’s future is one to keep an eye on at Ibrox, amid links connecting him with an exit, with Lille one of several clubs interested.
Igamane could be replaced by Bojan Miovski, who has been linked with a move to Glasgow.
Youssef Chermiti has also been linked with Rangers, but it is highly unlikely that the Gers pursue both him and Miovski in the final few days of the window.
