Rangers accept bid that returns over 500% profit after ‘blockbuster’ Ibrox developments
Russell Martin is already coming under fire at Rangers after a woeful start, and it could be about to go from bad to worse.
The Gers have gone winless in their opening three Premiership games, and their start to the new campaign has highlighted countless issues for the new boss.
Rangers’ draw with St Mirren on Sunday created yet more problems, and the effects from that now look set to be felt.
Martin’s side face two crucial games ahead of them this week, and it looks as if they will have to do so without one of their key players.

Rangers accept £10.5m Lille bid for Hamza Igamane
Martin has revealed that Hamza Igamane will pass a medical ahead of his Rangers exit, despite recent suggestions from some quarters that he is genuinely carrying an injury.
Igamane has not featured regularly under the new boss and refused to come off the bench during the draw at the weekend, and it now appears that he is days away from completing the move that he desperately desires.
Rangers have now accepted an offer of £10.5million for Igamane from French side Lille, according to Chris Jack of the Rangers Review.
- Rangers paid just £1.7m to sign Igamane from FAR Rabat last summer
- They are set to make a profit of over 500% on the wantaway star
- Discussions with Lille were reopened on Monday, and a deal will be done before the upcoming deadline
It is understood that Rangers chose to reopen discussions with Lille on Monday, following Martin’s “blockbuster” reveal on Igamane during his press conference after the St Mirren stalemate.
Their proposal is understood to have met the release clause within the striker’s contract, and the move will go through in plenty of time ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
Despite the frustration surrounding the manner of Igamane’s exit, they can take solace from the fact that they have turned over a significant profit on him in the space of just one season.
Rangers paid just £1.7m for the 22-year-old last summer, according to the Daily Record, which sees their total profit stand at a hugely healthy total of over 500 per cent.

Russell Martin will be glad of Hamza Igamane exit
The recent developments from Rangers regarding Igamane’s future will have certainly come as an unwelcome distraction ahead of their bid to save their European campaign.
The Gers face a crucial trip to Brugge for the second leg of their Champions League play-off tie on Wednesday night, in a tie that could also have huge implications on Martin’s future at the helm.
It has been an immensely challenging start for the former Southampton boss, and pressure is mounting on him with every passing game, such are the demands of managing such a historic club.
The Igamane saga has been hanging over the new boss since his arrival, and with it seemingly now settled, he will be hoping it lifts the weight from his shoulders and sparks a turnaround in his fortunes in Govan.
