French journalist shares bizarre Hamza Igamane twist as lie unfolds in Rangers exit saga
Rangers forward Hamza Igamane is perhaps the most controversial figure in Glasgow at this moment in time.
The 22-year-old was at the centre of a baffling moment at the weekend as Igamane refused to come on as a substitute when asked by Russell Martin during the 1-1 draw against St Mirren.
Igamane claimed to be injured, but it would appear Martin thought otherwise, suggesting the forward has one foot out of the door already after being linked with a loan move to Lille.
However, recent reports suggest that Igamane may not have been lying after all, after yet another twist has occurred in this bizarre Rangers transfer saga.

Hamza Igamane ‘not at 100 per cent’ for Club Brugge clash
Rangers are set to face Club Brugge in the second leg of their Champions League playoff fixture on Wednesday after losing the first leg 3-1 at Ibrox.
French journalist Sebastien Denis suggested on X on Tuesday that Igamane underwent an MRI and is experiencing discomfort in his adductors. He is therefore not 100 per cent ready for the crucial European tie.
This report directly contradicts one from Gordon Duncan, who stated on Sky Sports News earlier in the day that, as far as Rangers are concerned, there is no sign of Igamane carrying an injury.
Hamza Igamane truth may lie in the middle
Whilst the reports from Denis claim Igamane is not 100 per cent, footballers play when they are not fully fit all the time.
- Martin started with Thelo Aasgaard up top as a makeshift striker against St Mirren
- The Norwegian, who arrived from Luton earlier in the summer, is typically an attacking midfielder
Martin would not have named him on the bench against St Mirren if he didn’t think Igamane could contribute.
If Rangers’ tests of their own suggest Igamane is not carrying an injury, the striker is likely fit enough to play, even if the Moroccan may be carrying a slight knock.
Perhaps Igamane does not want to jeopardise his move to Lille by aggravating this knock, but either way, it appears as though the player and manager’s relationship has completely broken down, and a move away would seem to be the best resolution for both parties.
