Rangers set for multi-million windfall after Hamza Igamane development
Hamza Igamane has been linked with a Rangers exit all summer after an impressive first season in Glasgow.
The Morocco international has played three games this season, including a 29-minute cameo as Rangers lost to Club Brugge in the first leg of the Champions League play-off.
Rangers have set clear demands for Igamane’s exit, but as things stand, he remains a Gers player.

Russell Martin issues major Hamza Igamane reveal
In the wake of Gers’ frustrating 1-1 draw against St Mirren, Martin’s pointed post-match comments regarding Igamane have laid bare the Moroccan forward’s apparent desire to depart Ibrox, escalating what could prove to be a pivotal saga as the transfer window nears its close.
Martin’s revelation that Igamane claimed an injury mid-game, despite training and warming up without issue earlier, strongly suggests the player was unwilling to feature, especially after Rangers rebuffed a loan bid from Lille for Igamane earlier in the week.
He also admitted that the transfer window is still open and there is uncertainty about the potential ins and outs over the next week.
Speaking about the Moroccan in the aftermath of the draw against St Mirren, Martin said: “Hamza told me he was injured.
“So, we had a bid for Hamza this week, we rejected it, and all was fine. He trained fine yesterday, warmed up fine, and he turned round at 60 minutes because I wanted two strikers on the pitch – that’s why Danny (Danilo) and Gass (Gassama) ended up there, and Hamza told me he is injured.
“The issue is that the transfer window is still open. There are a lot of people with one eye out the door and one eye in, and we need people to be all in, all the time at this football club.”

Rangers set for unexpected windfall from Hamza Igamane’s sale
By going so public with these details on Sky Sports, Martin has effectively called out Igamane’s reluctance, emphasising the need for players to be fully committed to the club amid ongoing uncertainties.
This transparency from the manager, who admitted the striker’s mindset might be clouded by interest from suitors like Marseille and Feyenoord, underscores a clear rift and signals that Igamane’s heart is no longer at Rangers.
The 22-year-old’s impressive form since joining last summer has attracted serious attention, positioning him as a hot commodity in the market.
With his potential and track record, Gers are poised for a substantial financial boost, as Igamane could command a transfer fee between £10million and £15million from a Ligue 1 or Eredivisie powerhouse.
Such a windfall would provide vital funds for squad reinvestment, allowing Martin to address defensive frailties and midfield imbalances exposed in the St Mirren stalemate.
Ultimately, this episode highlights the challenges of squad harmony during transfer deadlines, but it also offers Rangers an opportunity to cash in on a player whose ambitions lie elsewhere, ensuring the club’s financial stability while refocusing on those fully dedicated to the Light Blues’ title aspirations.
