This is how much Rangers will bank as they agree to sell Ridvan Yilmaz to Besiktas, fee revealed

Rangers will be hoping to balance their books further as Ridvan Yilmaz has accepted a transfer to Besiktas.

The Gers sold Jefte to Palmeiras for a significant sum and are now looking to do the same with other unwanted players in the team.

Besiktas have been working on signing Yilmaz for a considerable period, and it looks like the deal will finally be over the line soon.

The 24-year-old wasn’t able to make an impression over his three-year stint in Glasgow and will now return to familiar surroundings.

Rangers accept around £2m transfer fee for Ridvan Yilmaz

Yilmaz is poised to return to Besiktas from the Gers, according to the Rangers Review.

The news outlet reports on 23 August that the left-back has already said his goodbyes at Ibrox ahead of his medical at the Istanbul club.

It’s been claimed that the Light Blues and the Super Lig outfit have accepted a fee in the region of £2m for the Turkiye international’s sale.

While the defender wasn’t able to live up to the expectations at the Glaswegian outfit, his versatility will certainly be missed in G51.

Russell Martin still has holes to fix at Ibrox

Russell Martin made Yilmaz angry by excluding the left-back from his plans and handing Max Aarons his jersey number.

The Scottish manager’s experiment with the Bournemouth loanee at the left side of defence arguably hasn’t worked out, and reinforcements are undoubtedly needed.

While Jayden Meghoma had a promising debut at Ibrox against Club Brugge in the Champions League play-off as the Light Blues lost the first leg 3-1, the jury is still out on the youngster.

James Tavernier should also return to the Rangers lineup after Aarons’ struggles, with the right-back spot certainly up for grabs.

Dujon Sterling could potentially be a decent option at Martin’s disposal, but it remains to be seen when the Englishman will return to action.

Another left-back should be a priority for the Gers after selling Jefte and Yilmaz, with Kevin Thelwell’s recruitment so far being hit and miss.
