Ridvan Yilmaz footage emerges as Rangers defender speaks, Ibrox announcement set

Rangers could potentially make their third exit announcement in as many days with Ridvan Yilmaz on his way out.

The Gers have sold Jefte to Palmeiras for around £6million and have replaced him with Brentford loanee Jayden Meghoma.

Jose Cifuentes has also joined Toronto FC on a season-long loan, and the MLS outfit have an option to buy him next year.

Yilmaz looks to be the next on the Glaswegian outfit’s departure list as footage has emerged of the left-back in Turkiye.

Rangers statement expected soon as Ridvan Yilmaz happy to join Besiktas

Footage has emerged of Yilmaz arriving in Istanbul to complete his move to Besiktas.

The 24-year-old is set to return to the Super Lig outfit this summer, and a statement regarding his exit should be expected in the coming hours at Ibrox.

It looks like the defender is delighted to end his three-year stint at the Light Blues, as he’s delighted to be back in a much more familiar environment.

Speaking to TRT Spor on X on 22 August, Yilmaz said: “I am very happy to return to my home.”

Ben Davies exit also a matter of if and not when at Ibrox

Oxford United are close to signing Ben Davies on loan from the Gers before the end of August.

The English defender joined Birmingham City on a temporary move last summer and was a key player in their return to the Championship.

It isn’t surprising to see the ex-Liverpool centre-back return down south, as Russell Martin clearly doesn’t seem to have him in his plans.

While Yilmaz’s return to Besiktas from Rangers has felt inevitable after his number was given to Max Aarons, there are other players who should also look for a way out.

Leon King and Clinton Nsiala also need to evaluate their futures in G51, with Rabbi Matondo, another player who looks surplus to requirements at Ibrox.

The Glaswegian outfit will surely have a busy end to the ongoing transfer window, and it will be interesting to see whether they will sign any more players to help Martin turn the tide after a poor start to the season.
