Rangers beat Celtic in race to sign Bojan Miovski as transfer being finalised

Rangers have been eager to add to their attack this summer as they look to turn around their poor start to the season.

Danilo has yet to replicate the form that he had shown in pre-season, and Martin’s side have scored just two Scottish Premier League goals in as many games.

Equally, Cyriel Dessers has yet to get going this season, having notched just one goal amid a summer of transfer uncertainty.

With problems at both ends of the pitch, Martin is keen on turning his fortunes around, with former Aberdeen striker Bojan Mivovski a target.

Bojan Miovski not included in Girona’s squad as he finalises Rangers loan

Martin has already come under fire at Ibrox and could face the sack in the coming weeks should their poor form continue.

The former Southampton boss has looked to Girona’s Miovski to solve his problems in attack.

The striker signed for Girona in 2024 after smashing it for Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.

The Spanish side faced competition from Rangers and Celtic when they signed him one year ago, but it seems that the North Macedonian striker has struggled to settle.

Mivovski now looks set for a return to Scotland, with Rangers beating rivals Celtic to his signature.

According to journalist Ivan Quiros on X, Macedonian striker Miovski is not included in the Girona FC squad for Villarreal, as he is finalising his loan to Rangers.

Gers and their Glasgow neighbours, Celtic, have both faced plenty of struggles this summer.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have struggled to make signings in the transfer window, and chants of ‘sack the board’ were heard in their latest Champions League qualifier against Kairat.

Martin’s side haven’t had much to shout about, but beating Celtic to the signing of Mivovski will be a huge mental advantage.

Rangers have the perfect opportunity to put disappointment behind them vs Celtic

Rangers host Celtic later in the month, in what will be a huge opportunity to turn the tide this season.

Given Celtic’s toxic atmosphere in recent weeks, partnered with the Gers having the home advantage, the Old Firm Derby could be make or break for Martin.

In contrast to the visitors, the Light Blues have done plenty of business, but it has yet to click for the new signings, and Martin will be hoping that changes later in the month.
