Rangers frustration emerges amid ‘bizarre’ Hamza Igamane exit twist
Hamza Igamane remains a Rangers player despite the transfer speculation surrounding him all summer.
It’s understood that LOSC Lille still want to sign the Moroccan striker, but they are dragging their feet over the deal.
Lille recently made a “bizarre” attempt to sign Igamane on a season-long loan earlier in August, but this deal was abruptly rejected.
Rangers are lining up replacements for Igamane, but it’s believed they need to offload the Moroccan before they can finance a new deal.

This article includes exclusive comment from former Rangers midfielder Derek Ferguson.
Igamane deal described as ‘frustrating’ for everyone involved
While some transfers can be completed in a matter of days, others turn into ‘transfer sagas’ which dominate the news cycle for the whole summer.
This can only be exasperating for everyone involved in the deal.
It’s believed that Rangers value Igamane at around £15million, yet Lille remain unwilling to meet that price tag.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, former Rangers midfielder Derek Ferguson expressed his desire for Igamane to leave Ibrox as soon as possible.
He said: “Yeah it’s frustrating [how long it’s taking]. There’s a lot of interest in him and Rangers are looking for good money. But I’ve said before, I get the feeling he’s not happy.
“If a deal can be done, Rangers need to get it over the line and let the manager bring the players in he needs. The young man will be frustrated as well.”

Hamza Igamane is worth at least £15m in today’s market
Rangers’ decision to sell Igamane is part of a broader strategy to buy emerging players at a low fee and offload them at a huge profit.
Igamane arrived from AS FAR Rabat last summer for just over £1m. He enjoyed a mesmerising first season at Ibrox.
At only 22 years old, he has:
- Lightning pace
- A keen eye for goal
- Impressive versatility
Igamane is no longer a risky punt, either. He has shown consistency in Scotland and in the Europa League. He is absolutely worth at least £15m in today’s market.
Rangers are in a great position where they’re not necessarily desperate to sell. Igamane has four years left on his contract, and he will continue to do well if he remains in Scotland.
For that reason, the Scottish giants are well within their rights to hold out for their full valuation.
