Ben Davies to seal Rangers loan exit within hours, could make debut vs Birmingham City
Ben Davies has not been part of Rangers’ plans for some time.
The 30-year-old defender was brought into Ibrox in 2022 but quickly fell out of favour in Glasgow.
As a result, Davies was sent on loan to Birmingham City for the 2024/25 campaign and helped the Blues return to the Championship.
Since his return to Ibrox, Davies has been tipped to depart Rangers once more, and now this looks set to become a reality.

Oxford United set to sign Ben Davies on loan
Davies has been linked with a loan move to Oxford United already this summer.
Now, this looks set to go through, according to Chris Jack via Rangers Review on 22 August.
The deal is expected to be done on Friday, with the defender set to be available to face Birmingham on Saturday.
As a result, Davies is set to never play another match for the Gers again. This is due to the loan lasting throughout the 2025/26 campaign, with his contract at Ibrox to expire upon his return next summer.

Rangers make a huge blunder with Ben Davies loan
It seems illogical to loan out a player when their contract is set to expire the following year.
The report indicates no obligation to buy involved, meaning the Gers are set to miss out on any fee for the 30-year-old.
- Davies joined Rangers from Liverpool in 2022
- The defender has made over 50 appearances for the Gers
- Davies’ Rangers contract is set to expire in 2026
Given Rangers’ defensive problems, Martin should have considered giving the defender a chance on the pitch rather than just essentially letting him go for free.
Davies is clearly still a solid defender who can play at a decent level, and compared to some of the performances on Tuesday night, the 30-year-old could do no worse.
