Gabby Logan: ‘This is what we hear about Nicolas Raskin leaving Rangers’, Allan McGregor reacts

Nicolas Raskin’s future at Rangers remains uncertain going into the final weeks of the window.

The midfielder was easily one of the Gers’ best players last season, sparking rumours regarding his future at Ibrox.

Under Russell Martin, this remains unresolved, with Raskin even being dropped for Rangers’ match against Viktoria Plzen.

Now, with less than two weeks left of the transfer window, Gabby Logan and Allan McGregor have weighed in on the midfielder’s future.

Gabby Logan: Nicolas Raskin wanted by Premier League sides

Rangers suffered another defeat, losing 3-1 to Club Brugge on Tuesday.

After poor displays going into the match, Martin was in need of a result and looked to his star players to deliver a victory.

As a result, Raskin started the tie against the Belgian side.

Before kick-off, there was plenty of discussion regarding the midfielder’s future.

Speaking on Amazon Prime on 19 August, presenter Logan claimed that multiple Premier League sides were interested in Raskin.

She said: “Interest we hear from big English Premier League sides, this is a big showcase as always.”

McGregor then replied: “If he does well, has there been any talk of interest, or is it just rumours, you never know.

“If he does well in this competition and gets into the Champions League, hopefully that will raise his price if they do want to sell him.”

Nicolas Raskin one of Rangers’ few positives vs Club Brugge

On a poor evening, Raskin was one of the few highlights against the Belgian side.

The midfielder had a solid game overall, with Fotmob, as of 19 August, giving the 24-year-old a 7.4 rating, one of the highest on the field for both sides.

Therefore, if Rangers were to sell Raskin, it would leave a massive hole in the midfield, with the Glaswegians crying out for more experience.

Joe Rothwell did come in with that in abundance, but he has struggled so far in Govan.

With it being so late in the transfer window, Martin may not have time to replace the 24-year-old, which could cause plenty of problems in Europe this season.
