Rangers set clear Hamza Igamane demand after Lille send ‘bizarre’ offer to Scottish giants
Rangers have dismissed a verbal transfer offer from LOSC Lille for Hamza Igamane.
The Morocco international caught a lot of people’s attention after some impressive performances last season, and it isn’t surprising to see prominent teams in Europe eyeing him.
Igamane wants to join Lille this summer, but the Ligue 1 outfit are yet to reach an agreement with the Gers for his signature.
Russell Martin’s reluctance to rely on Igamane may indicate the Light Blues are anticipating late bids from interested parties, but the most recent offer has seemingly left the hierarchy in G51 baffled.

Lille wanted to take Igamane on loan from Rangers
Lille’s first offer for Igamane was laughed off by the Gers, according to the Rangers Review.
The news outlet reported on 18 August that the French club wanted to take the Moroccan striker on loan, and no fee would have been payable as part of the proposal.
It’s been claimed that the Glaswegian outfit rejected the “bizarre” bid and are holding out for an eight-figure fee for his exit from Ibrox.
The 22-year-old’s situation in the coming days will be one to keep an eye on as the Light Blues may be able to make a hefty profit on him.

Martin should keep Igamane at Ibrox
Cyriel Dessers injured himself against Viktoria Plzen in the second leg of the Champions League’s third qualifying round, but the knock isn’t as severe as once feared.
The Nigeria international seems to have impressed the Scottish manager in the first few games of the season, and he may be the first-choice for the 2025/26 campaign.
Danilo could potentially start against Club Brugge in the first leg of the European competition’s play-off at Ibrox on 19 August.
- Igamane was signed from AS FAR for £1.7million.
- Dessers lost his place in the starting lineup to the 22-year-old last season.
- The young centre-forward scored 11 league goals in the previous campaign.
Igamane has had his fitness issues at Rangers this season, but he’s expected to at least feature as a substitute as Nicky Hayen’s team travel to Glasgow.
Once fully fit, Igamane is arguably the best number nine at Martin’s disposal, and it wouldn’t make sense to sell him this close to Deadline Day.
The Light Blues will undoubtedly need to find a quality replacement for the Morocco international, which won’t come cheap.
Only time will tell where Igamane will be playing his football in September.
