Nedim Bajrami exit appears set in stone after Rangers development
Nedim Bajrami has struggled for consistency since his move to Rangers in the summer of 2024.

Jayden Meghoma replaces Bajrami in the Champions League play-off squad
After beating Panathinaikos and Viktoria Plzen, Russell Martin’s side need to beat Club Brugge over two legs in order to qualify for the Champions League.
Rangers have decided to register Jayden Meghoma, a left-back who recently joined on loan from Brentford.
With the 19-year-old coming in, Bajrami, an attacking midfielder, made way and he will not be a part of the matchday squad.
This season, the 26-year-old has played just 17 minutes in the league and made three appearances in the Champions League qualifiers.
Rangers likely to attempt to cash in on Bajrami
Bajrami’s omission from the Champions League play-off squad against Club Brugge signals that he is not part of Martin’s long-term plans.
Despite scoring in a recent 4-2 Premier Sports Cup win over Alloa, the Albanian midfielder was dropped to accommodate Meghoma, indicating a shift in squad priorities.

Bajrami, who joined Rangers for £3.5million from Sassuolo in 2024, has struggled to secure a regular starting role, with lacklustre performances and limited contributions in the final third drawing criticism.
With Martin overseeing a squad rebuild and Rangers aiming to streamline their side before the transfer window closes on 1 September, they may be prepared to cut their losses on Bajrami.
Interest from Serie A could facilitate a move. Selling him would free up funds and squad space, aligning with Martin’s strategy to prioritise players who fit his tactical vision.
