Chris Sutton takes swipe at Rangers fans after what he saw in Ibrox stands vs Club Brugge

Rangers suffered a 3-1 defeat to Club Brugge in the first leg of their Champions League playoff tie on Tuesday night.

The Gers were 3-0 down against the Belgian side at half-time after some awful defending, before Danilo pulled one back in the second period.

Russell Martin was under pressure at Rangers coming into the tie, after numerous awful domestic performances early in his reign.

Now, Club Brugge have exposed the Gers once more, with Chris Sutton wasting no time to mock the Glasgow club.

Russell Martin is on track to be Rangers’ worst-ever manager

Going into the match, Martin only had a 42.9 win percentage at Ibrox.

Now that Rangers have lost to Club Brugge, this has now fallen to 37.5 per cent.

This gives Martin by far the worst win rate of any permanent Rangers manager in their history.

Martin has had a tricky start to his Rangers career

Therefore, if results do not pick up for the Scotsman, he is surely facing the sack.

If a heavy defeat in the Old Firm follows their Champions League exit, it would come as no surprise if the trigger is pulled early.
