Ridvan Yilmaz transfer desperation emerges at Rangers as exit close
Ridvan Yilmaz has made no secret of his desire to leave Rangers this transfer window.
The Turkiye international has been left out of Russell Martin’s plans at the Gers, and it isn’t surprising to see him being linked with an exit.
Yilmaz’s number three shirt has been handed to Max Aarons, and that certainly must not have gone down well with the left-back.
Having agreed a deal with Palmeiras for Jefte’s departure, the Glaswegian outfit are also in talks to sell the former Besiktas ace.

Besiktas return from Rangers wanted by Yilmaz
Yilmaz “desperately” wants to join Besiktas from the Gers before the end of August, according to Serkan Morova.
The Turkish journalist, speaking on Rabona on X (17 August), revealed that the 24-year-old defender is pushing for a move to Super Lig outfit from Besiktas.
After three rather frustrating seasons at Ibrox, it makes sense for the left-back to reignite his career in Istanbul.
With the Light Blues set to lose Jefte and Yilmaz, they will need to sign a replacement for the left side of the defence.

Martin has a few candidates to replace Jefte and Yilmaz
Aston Villa defender Alex Moreno has emerged as a surprise target for the Gers as they look for reinforcements.
The 32-year-old spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest and doesn’t seem to have a future at Villa Park.
Real Betis centre-back Nobel Mendy has also been approached by the Light Blues, but it doesn’t look like a deal will go through for the defender, who may also be able to play on the left side of defence.
- Jefte was a key player for the Gers last season.
- Yilmaz’s versatility came in handy at Ibrox for Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson.
- Martin could soon be without a natural left-back.
Rangers also want Brentford’s Jayden Meghoma, and he seems like the likeliest target for them in the final weeks of the window.
Bailey Rice featured at left-back for the Gers in the 4-2 win over Alloa Athletic in the Premier Sports Cup, but the Scottish youngster didn’t have the best of outings and was substituted with a knock just before the break.
Aarons can’t be the only option for Martin on the left side of the defence, and it remains to be seen who they will sign.
