Rangers want £10m full-back who Thomas Frank thinks can be one of England’s best

Rangers look set for more changes in the transfer window, and are now targeting a high-profile full-back.

Jefte could be on the way out with Palmeiras interested, while Ridvan Yilmaz seemingly has no future in Glasgow.

Rangers have already brought in several new additions, but the squad is far from complete, and a new left-back would go a long way in helping Russell Martin.

The Gers have now set their sights on an ambitious target, and the Premier League has been targeted by Martin yet again for new signings.

Rangers interested in Jayden Meghoma

Rangers Review have reported that Brentford defender Jayden Meghoma is of interest to the Gers this summer, but a deal to bring him to Ibrox will not be easy.

With Jefte nearing an exit, it is reported that Rangers are keen on Meghoma, with whom Martin briefly worked with at Southampton.

The left-back is seemingly highly rated at Brentford, and it remains to be seen whether they will sanction a loan or a permanent move.

Thomas Frank’s praise for Meghoma

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank worked with Meghoma at Brentford, and he had a lot of praise for the defender.

“Jayden is an England youth international and one of the biggest left-back talents this country has,” Frank stated after Brentford signed him last summer.

“Again, we had competition from other clubs, so we are definitely doing something right.

“I like Jayden’s offensive ability – he is quick, has good one-on-one skill and can cross – and he has good defensive ability as well. He is adaptable and can play outside or inside full-back.

“There is still a lot he can learn, but Jayden is a player we have big belief in. He can help us this season and in the future.”

Meghoma is clearly a huge talent with massive potential, and despite his limited experience, he could prove to be a useful addition for Rangers.

Max Aarons has filled in at left-back with disastrous results so far, and it is clear that a traditional overlapping defender is needed in the position.

If Brentford want to keep the England youth international in the long run, then a loan deal may be possible, but Rangers could benefit more from a permanent deal given the possibility to sell Meghoma for a huge fee if he reaches his potential.
