Pierce Charles to clear medical as Rangers launch new transfer bid
Rangers are keen on securing the services of Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pierce Charles.
Charles has also been linked with a move to West Ham after his performances in the Championship and at international level for Northern Ireland.
Russell Martin wants Rangers to sign a keeper, and the Manchester-born stopper has emerged as a potential option.
The goalkeeper moved to Hillsborough from Manchester City back in 2021.

This story includes exclusive opinion from injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist.
Charles not expected to face issues clearing his medical
The 20-year-old has played 17 senior matches thus far, with all of them coming at Sheffield Wednesday.
As Charles has not faced any injury issues in his career, Dr Rajpal Brar does not expect him to face any trouble clearing his medical.
According to The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, Rangers have already tabled a bid north of £1million for Charles, along with West Ham, but have not heard back from the English club.

Speaking about a potential transfer, Dr Brar told Ibrox News: “He has played a decent number of senior games over the last couple of seasons.
“That’s a positive for clubs looking to make an investment for the future.
“With no injury issues since he began playing senior football, I expect him to clear his medical.”
Charles will be a good long-term signing for Rangers
Charles would be an excellent signing for Rangers due to his remarkable potential and proven abilities.
Despite limited appearances, his shot-stopping prowess, highlighted by 11 saves in a single Championship match, will only get better in the coming years.
His composure in possession aligns with Martin’s possession-based style.
As a Northern Ireland international with six caps, his youth and modest valuation promise significant development and resale value, making him a strategic investment for the Gers.
