Kevin Thelwell masterstroke as Rangers get rid of ‘unspeakably bad’ player for millions
Kevin Thelwell has pulled off an incredible financial masterclass at Rangers.
Rangers qualified for the UEFA Champions League next round despite a 2-1 defeat to Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday.
This continues a triumphant month for the Gers. This includes the signing of loanee Mikey Moore, who Russell Martin could debut against Alloa Athletic in the Scottish League Cup at Ibrox.
But Thelwell continues to push for change at Rangers, and his latest one will surely get fans off their feet.

Jefte to leave Ibrox for £6million
Rangers signed Jefte on a four-year contract for a reported £800,000 fee in May last year. However, his transfer has failed to meet expectations.
Jefte was slammed during the first leg against Viktoria Plzen for allowing his frustrations to bubble over and land a booking. Furthermore, Jefte’s role in Plzen’s goal towards the end of the first half earned a fierce reaction from spectators.
During the confrontation, award-winning Scottish writer and current host of the Bunkered Podcast, Michael McEwan, told his followers on X that Jefte is an “unspeakably bad” footballer.
- Rangers are not only set to bid Jefte farewell, but pocket millions from his departure
- They make more than £5m profit on the sum they splashed on him last year
As reported by Rangers Review on Friday, the Ibrox giants will bank £6million when Jefte completes his switch to Palmerias in the coming days.
For a player who has struggled to find his best form at Ibrox, this is an incredible bit of business from Thelwell.

Rangers must continue to make signings
While the Gers have already had a decent summer, a couple more signings are needed.
The goalkeeping position is one that Martin is particularly keen to strengthen. Pierce Charles has emerged as the most viable candidate, with the Scottish club prepared to go on the offensive.
With the prospect of Champions League football so close, Rangers cannot afford to continue the season on the back burner.
