Next Rangers signing after Nobel Mendy revealed as negotiations underway
Nobel Mendy looks set to become the latest man to complete a move to Rangers this summer.
The Govan outfit have enjoyed a hugely busy couple of months in the transfer market, as Russell Martin continues to mould the squad into his image.
Mendy looks set to become Rangers’ next new star, as the Frenchman underwent a medical in Barcelona on Wednesday, ahead of a move that will see him become the tenth new addition of the summer at Ibrox.
There appears to be no sign of the transfer business slowing down for the Gers, and they may already have their next signing in the pipeline.

Jack expects left-back signing amid Jefte and Yilmaz interest
Rangers have been facing interest in Jefte in recent days, with Palmeiras reportedly entering negotiations over a move for the left-back.
The Brazilian side are keen to take the defender back to his homeland, and it had been thought that a deal could be on the cards for a fee in the region of £5million.
However, Chris Jack of the Rangers Review has now revealed that Palmeiras’ move was little more than an initial enquiry, and that Rangers are yet to receive a concrete offer for the 21-year-old.
There is a similar situation unfolding with Ridvan Yilmaz, as Besiktas are believed to be leading the way for his signature, but are also yet to formalise that interest with a formal offer.
- Yilmaz joined Rangers in 2022 for a fee that could rise as high as £5.3m
- He penned a five-year deal at Ibrox
- He has since struggled badly for form and started just 11 Premiership games in 2024/25
It is believed that Rangers would be happy to see the Turkish defender leave, and his future could be about to head in that direction, with discussions underway with the player’s representatives.
With that in mind, Jack noted that the eleventh addition of the summer for Rangers could well come at left-back, after they have got the Mendy deal over the line.

Rangers need new left-back regardless of Jefte and Yilmaz exits
Jefte made an error that almost cost Rangers in their second leg against Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday night, and it should have served as a timely reminder to Martin that a new option on that flank is a must, regardless of what happens with possible exits.
- Jefte’s form at Ibrox has been largely inconsistent
- He had interest from Premier League teams at the end of last season, and now Palmeiras are keen
Yilmaz’s signing simply hasn’t worked out, and his poor form largely left Jefte overburdened at times last term.
The 21-year-old is a promising talent, but the pressure on him resulted in errors creeping into his game, and it looks as though that has carried over into this campaign.
Max Aarons has also looked uncomfortable while covering on the left side of the defence, and that should have set the alarm bells ringing that a reinforcement is needed, irrespective of whether Yilmaz and Jefte depart.
