Jefte reaches agreement to join Palmeiras on five-year contract
According to UOL, Palmeiras have struck a verbal agreement with the 21-year-old over a transfer.
The Brazilian news outlet reported on 13 August that progress has been made in negotiations and he will be signing a five-year contract at the South American club.
Jefte started the second leg against Viktoria Plzen but now appears to be on his way out.
A face-to-face meeting has been scheduled in London on 14 August between the two sides to finalise the transfer.
Palmeiras are confident of completing the signing of Jefte by next week.
Rangers now need to sign a new left-back ASAP
With Jefte on the verge of joining Palmeiras and Yilmaz excluded from Martin’s plans, Rangers face an urgent need to sign a new left-back before the transfer window closes.
Jefte, who started 30 matches last season, is nearing an exit, while Yilmaz, sidelined and linked with a return to Besiktas, has not featured under Martin, leaving the squad critically short at left-back.
