Rangers ‘to seek big-money’ for Nico Raskin as Premier League interest emerges
Rangers could potentially have the opportunity to cash in on Nico Raskin amid interest from the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength in the last year, making his debut for the Belgium national team.
Raskin has emerged as a target for Wolves recently, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him move down south in the coming weeks.
With the ex-Standard Liege star’s current contract at Ibrox expiring in 2027, the Glaswegian outfit have a massive decision on their hands before the end of August.

Raskin can play in the Premier League
Barry Ferguson believes the Gers should look to get at least £15million if they sell Raskin this summer.
The Light Blues’ former interim manager was highly impressed by the Belgian national during their time together at Ibrox.
With the 24-year-old being eyed by teams down south, the ex-Scotland international believes the midfielder can comfortably play in the Premier League.
- Raskin signed for the Gers for £1.32m, plus add-ons, in January 2023.
- The Belgian star struggled for game time initially.
- Last season, the midfielder scored five goals and provided 11 assists.
Speaking on Go Radio, as relayed by the Daily Record (8 August), Ferguson said: “Nico can play in the Premier League all day long. I worked with him for three months. He has all the attributes and is still at a brilliant age. He still has some things he needs to tidy up on, but he understands that. He’s got an opinion, which I liked.
“He’s really interested and keen to learn. All day long, he can play in the Premier League. Now, Rangers have got to be looking for big money for Nico. I am looking at £15m at least for Nico.”

Russell Martin already has Raskin’s replacement at Rangers
Russell Martin dropped Raskin from the starting lineup in the 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen in the UEFA Champions League on 5 August.
The Belgium international was one of the senior players axed by the 39-year-old head coach after an underwhelming display at Fir Park against Motherwell.
With the Scottish manager preferring Joe Rothwell in the number six position, the 24-year-old has played in a much more advanced role than last season, and has struggled a bit.
Lyall Cameron stood out for Rangers at Ibrox in the first leg of the European tie against Plzen and deserves to continue in the starting lineup.
Scottish Premiership (2024/25) | Statistics |
Appearances | 33 |
Goals | 9 |
Assists | 5 |
Chances created | 54 |
Successful dribbles | 22 |
Possession won in final third | 21 |
The former Dundee midfielder seems like the perfect replacement for Raskin after joining the Gers on a pre-contract this summer.
Therefore, Martin may not need to look far if Kevin Thelwell decides to cash in on the Belgian national at the Glaswegian outfit.
While the 24-year-old will definitely be missed if he leaves, the Light Blues have an opportunity to make a significant profit from his sale.
