Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez privately raved to Ronaldo about new Rangers transfer target

It’s nice to hear that Rangers are now lining up signings who’ve previously impressed at the Bernabeu.

Russell Martin’s side could use a new starter between the sticks as the likes of Jack Butland and Liam Kelly have failed to impress.

The former is a liability with the ball at his feet, and was dropped by Barry Ferguson in favour of Kelly at the back of last season.

The Ibrox outfit could go up another level if they can find a new number one, and it seems like they have identified their man.

Rangers target Karl Hein leaves Real Madrid surpremo Perez stunned

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was stunned by Karl Hein’s performance in Real Valladolid’s 3-0 loss to his side last season.

The Gunners loanee made six saves in the contest to keep the scoreline at a respectable level and told Brazilian legend Ronaldo what he thought of the young stopper.

A report from Defensa Central (26 August 2024) claims that Perez told the former Madrid striker, who owns Valladolid, that Hein has “got a good build, a very good goalkeeper.”

Rangers have joined the race for Estonian keeper Hein, according to Dominik Schneider (6 August), but face competition from Sevilla.

Perez admission should give Rangers encouragement

Perez has a habit of signing some of the world’s best players, like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham for the Spanish outfit.

He is clearly a great judge of talent, and if he holds Hein in such high regard, then the Light Blues should do everything that they can to bring him in.

Goalkeeper is a position of weakness for Martin’s side, and if they want to catch Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, they need a new starter.

They cannot afford any weaknesses, and the 49ers need to back their manager until there are no holes left in the squad in Govan.

That will be a long process, and will take more than just one window, but bringing in a top-quality player between the sticks would be a brilliant start.

The Gers could prove a tempting option for Hein as they could have Champions League football, if they can keep up their momentum in Europe after the 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen.
