Rangers set for Ridvan Yilmaz bidding war after latest transfer development

Ridvan Yilmaz could potentially bring in a lot of money for Rangers this summer.

The Turkey international isn’t part of the Gers’ plan for the 2025/26 campaign, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave in the coming weeks.

Russell Martin doesn’t want Yilmaz at the Light Blues, as is evident with the defender’s exclusion from the recent UEFA Champions League squads.

Besiktas have made an offer for the 24-year-old at Ibrox, but a bidding war may soon ensue for his signature.

Yilmaz’s situation at Rangers is being monitored by other clubs

Besiktas aren’t the only club interested in Yilmaz, according to The Rangers Review.

The news outlet reports (5 August) that while the Super Lig outfit are leading the race for the Turkish left-back, other clubs on the continent are monitoring his situation at Ibrox.

It’s been claimed that talks of the 24-year-old’s imminent return to the Istanbul club are premature as an agreement with the Glaswegian outfit isn’t close yet.

Yilmaz’s three-year spell at the Bears could soon come to an end, and it’s disappointing that he was never able to fulfil his potential in G51.

Jefte may ask to leave Ibrox

Max Aarons has been Martin’s go-to left-back at the start of the season, leaving Jefte to potentially consider his future at the Gers.

If the Brazilian isn’t trusted to be in the Scottish manager’s starting lineup, he may decide to leave before the end of August.

It wasn’t long ago that the 21-year-old’s performances were attracting attention from down south.

Jefte’s record at the Gers last season

Chelsea wanted to sign Jefte from Rangers in the winter transfer window, and he will undoubtedly be disappointed about losing his place in the team under the new head coach.

While Yilmaz’s possible departure will leave the Gers with a lack of depth in the backline, the issue will definitely be compounded if the Brazilian defender also decides to pack his bags.

The Light Blues have an opportunity to cash in on the in-demand Turkey international and should look to reinvest that money into the team this summer.
