Lyall Cameron MOTM as new teammate struggles – Rangers player ratings v Viktoria Plzen
Rangers recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen in their latest Champions League qualifying outing at Ibrox on Tuesday night.
Russell Martin’s side turned in what was arguably their most complete performance of his reign so far, as they dismantled their visitors to claim a commanding lead in the tie.
Rangers’ club captain James Tavernier started the night on the bench, but his absence did little to affect what was a brilliant night for the Govan outfit.
They were largely excellent in the first leg of the tie, and with that in mind, Ibrox News rates the performance of each Rangers player out of 10.

Lyall Cameron shines for Rangers with 9/10 display
Lyall Cameron’s arrival at Rangers has perhaps gone under the radar a little, given some of the business that has followed his signing in the latter stages of the transfer window.
The young midfielder has primarily featured in cameo roles so far at Ibrox, but he was a shining light in his side’s performance in the win over Plzen.
He was full of energy at the heart of the midfield for Martin’s charges, and he showcased a level of movement and intelligence that saw him get into some dangerous pockets of space.
Cameron combined that with some quality distribution, displaying an excellent level of technique to play a wide array of different passes.
The 22-year-old put on a near-perfect 9/10 performance against the Czech visitors, and at times it felt like there were two of him on the pitch.

Souttar stutters within superb team display
John Souttar has been an extremely reliable performer for Rangers during their Champions League campaign so far, but he slipped slightly below his usual high standards on this occasion.
The centre back had a couple of lapses in concentration with the ball at his feet, which sometimes saw him misplace passes as he and Nasser Djiga looked to build the play from the back.
That said, it was far from a poor display from the 28-year-old, on a night when no Gers player failed to meet expectations.
Souttar’s quality on the ball will make him a hugely important figure for Martin moving forward, and he perhaps picked the right night to have a slightly below-par performance.
