Rangers to hold ‘interesting’ press conference in wake of Martin comments

Rangers drew 1-1 at Motherwell in their opening league game, and there was already controversy following the disappointing performance.

The Gers were woeful in the second half and threw away a lead after James Tavernier opened the scoring early on.

Russell Martin did not hold back in his post-match interview, as he slammed the attitude of his players and told his squad to “drop their egos.”

Rangers have already found themselves falling behind after just one game, but there is little time to sit and reflect on the result.

“Yeah, that press conference could be quite interesting. A manager who doesn’t mince his words, that’s for sure,” Green stated.

Rangers were booed off at Fir Park, and it is hoped that Martin will make some ruthless changes to his lineup, and his press conference will likely give some insight into this.

What could Martin address in his press conference?

Rangers fans were furious at Kieran Dowell’s selection, and the decision to keep him on for 90 minutes, and Martin may be asked about his role in the side.

Tavernier also addressed the media after the draw, and Martin may be asked about his role in the side, as the captain was partly to blame for Motherwell’s equaliser.

The futures of Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers will be a talking point, with neither selected to start against Motherwell amid transfer interest.

Rangers cannot afford to lose at Ibrox on Tuesday night, and Martin is already facing early pressure after just three competitive games.
