Rangers squad almost set as £3m Antman bombshell drops
Rangers have made a major breakthrough in their pursuit of Go Ahead Eagles star Oliver Antman.
Russell Martin has already made eight summer signings, but are continuing their rebuild with Antman the latest player targeted.
Rangers have signed two wingers in Djeidi Gassama and Mikey Moore, but Antman is expected to join the young pair as a long-term addition.
The Gers have been locked in talks with Go Ahead Eagles in recent days, and a deal has now been agreed, with Antman set to head to Glasgow imminently.

Rangers agree deal to sign Antman
Rangers have now agreed a fee with Go Ahead Eagles to bring Antman to Ibrox, and the deal could be concluded in the coming days.
Chris Jack from the Rangers Review has reported that Rangers have had a bid of around £3million accepted for the 23-year-old, and that he is now edging closer to joining the club.
Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Antman | 36 | 6 | 16 |
The winger has scored six times in 36 games for the Dutch side, and will arrive as another attacking option for Martin this season.
The Finland international previously shone for FC Nordsjaelland, scoring 16 times in 110 appearances, and can play across the entire front line.
He is due to arrive in Glasgow in the coming days, with some details still to iron out between the two clubs.
Antman can make immediate impact
At 23, Antman is older and more experienced than both Gassama and Moore, despite being young himself, but he will arrive as a player ready to make an instant impact.
Antman typically prefers the right wing despite his versatility, and there are now several strong options on both flanks, with Findlay Curtis also breaking into the team.
Martin will hope that his latest signing can hit the ground running, but the recruitment drive will not stop there as a centre-forward is still necessary.
If Antman can succeed at Rangers, the £3m fee will feel like a bargain compared to other failed deals in recent years.
Moore will only be at Rangers for this season, but Antman could join with one eye on the future as a signing who can gain resale value if he delivers on the pitch.
With the transfer window set to close in a month’s time, Rangers’ squad is now very nearly set in place.
