Wages agreed as Rangers attacker could jet out in next 24 hours to seal Ibrox exit

Rangers could lose several players over the coming weeks as the Scottish Premiership season quickly approaches.

First, though, Russell Martin’s side must finish the job against Panathinaikos on Wednesday, whom they defeated 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League qualifying tie.

Several Gers players have been linked with an Ibrox exit, including Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane, while Robin Propper has returned to FC Twente.

However, it is another man who could depart the Glasgow club during the next 24 hours.

Ross McCausland primed for Rangers exit

Martin was reportedly ready to listen to offers for McCausland despite the winger wanting to remain at Ibrox.

Last season, the 22-year-old made 25 appearances in all competitions, with 13 of those coming in the Scottish Premiership.

However, he made just four league starts last term and did not feature in the Bears’ Champions League clash with Panathinaikos.

With Mikey Moore closing in on a move to Rangers, it seems that McCausland is on his way out.

The winger is weighing up a loan move to Aris after the Ibrox outfit agreed to the switch, according to the Daily Record (29 July, page 46)

Now, the Cypriot club have agreed a deal with the Glasgow outfit to cover the Northern Irishman’s Ibrox wages.

Aris want him to travel to Limassol in the next 24 hours, and if he gives the move the green light, he will link up with former Bears players Leon Balogun and Connor Goldson.

Moore an upgrade on MCausland for Martin

Given McCausland’s lack of impact in the league last season, it seems fair that he should be allowed to leave on loan.

That move would mean that the winger should be given more opportunities, and at 22, he could still have a future in Glasgow.

However, Moore appears to be a better option for now and needs more regular football under his belt.

At Tottenham, the teenager has shown glimpses of his potential, but would find it tough to break into Thomas Frank’s side.

Moore has an excellent record at youth level, and his dribbling and creativity could cause problems in Scotland.

With McCausland set for a temporary Ibrox goodbye, the door is opening for Moore to move to Rangers.
