Rangers told what to pay for Matija Frigan after transfer twist
Matija Frigan has been linked to Rangers throughout the summer.
The 22-year-old striker has emerged as a hot prospect in the Belgian Pro League, netting 14 goals and picking up four assists for Westerlo last season.
Frigan has since continued this form, with the youngster netting in the opening game week of the 2025/26 campaign in a 5-2 defeat to Anderlecht.
Rangers had been linked with Frigan earlier in the window, and now, the transfer saga has developed further.

Westerlo want £6.9m for Frigan
Despite rumours surrounding Frigan going quiet for weeks, Rangers are reportedly still in the race for the attacker.
According to Germanijak (28 July) the future of the Westerlo striker is still undecided after his failed transfer to Hull City.
- Frigan has previously been linked to Rangers this summer transfer wndow
- Hull City have been unable to seal the transfer of the Westerlo attacker due to a transfer ban
- Frigan has been capped five times for Croatia’s Under 21s
The Tigers’ transfer ban has prevented them from sealing the deal for the attacker.
As it stands, Spanish club Elche are believed to be the front-runners, with Westerlo demanding £6.9 million for the striker. However, the La Liga outfit are hopeful of completing the deal for £5.2m.
Despite this, the article claims that Rangers remain interested in Frigan, with Sunderland also linked.

Rangers should look elsewhere for striker reinforcements
Simply put, the asking price for Frigan is too much of a risk for Rangers to take a gamble on the striker.
At £6.9m it would make him one of the most expensive arrivals at Ibrox in their history if the transfer were to go through.
Given he has only found success in Belgium, there are far better options out there for Russell Martin if he wants to improve his attack further.
Hopefully, Kevin Thelwell has other options lined up as the end of the transfer window and the start of the Scottish Premiership edge ever closer.
