Curtis gets his chance after big injury blow – Rangers predicted XI v Panathinaikos

Findlay Curtis may be drafted back into the starting 11 for Rangers ahead of their clash with Panathinaikos.

Rangers find themselves two goals to the good after the first leg of the second qualifying round in the Champions League against Panathinaikos.

Goals from new signing Djeidi Gassama and Curtis gave the Light Blues the advantage heading into the second leg on Wednesday.

However, Russell Martin has been dealt a cruel blow ahead of the encounter, with two players absent from training in the lead-up to the game.

Hamza Igamane set to miss Champions League clash

Hamza Igamane was a second-half substitute for Rangers in their first-leg victory over the Greek giants, but it has since been revealed that he has been absent from training at Auchenhowie.

Recent addition Thelo Aasgaard was another absentee, with Sky Sports reporter Gordon Duncan expressing his doubts over whether the duo would feature on Wednesday night.

With that in mind, it seems as though Curtis may be handed another chance in the Gers’ starting lineup, with the remainder of the team likely to stay the same barring any late changes.

Ross McCausland is also unlikely to feature, given the fact that he was another absentee ahead of the game, with a move to Aris on the cards for the winger.

Martin has the luxury of rotation

Given the fact that Rangers are 2-0 up, Martin can be somewhat flexible with the team he puts out on Wednesday night.

While there is still work to be done on a recruitment front, the Light Blues do have options across the board.

The Gers have several young players raring to go and showcase their ability at the highest level, and a handful may be afforded a chance to do so after the latest update.
