Rangers ready £5m+ transfer for Oliver Antman as intermediaries make contact

Rangers are set to make a significant offer for Go Ahead Eagles forward Oliver Antman this summer transfer window.

The Gers are looking to strengthen the right side of their attack, with Crystal Palace youngster Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on their radar.

Kieran Dowell started against Panathinaikos in the Champions League second round qualifying’s first leg at home on 22 July as the Light Blues won 2-0.

The 27-year-old, who spent some time on loan at Birmingham City last season, clearly isn’t good enough for the Glaswegian outfit, and they are ready to make a move for an apparent upgrade.

Go Ahead Eagles told to prepare for Rangers transfer offer for Antman

Intermediaries have told Go Ahead Eagles to prepare for an offer from the Gers for Antman, according to Herald Sport.

The news outlet reports (27 July) that the Light Blues have shown firm interest in the 23-year-old forward at Ibrox in the ongoing transfer window.

It’s been claimed that the Eredivisie outfit want a fee in excess of £5million for the Finland international, with Sheffield United also heavily linked with a move for him.

The Glaswegian outfit seem to be preparing to make an offer for the right-sided attacker, but it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.

Antman caught a lot of people’s attention in the Netherlands last season after scoring six goals and providing 15 assists for the Go Ahead Eagles in the league.

The 23-year-old signed for the Dutch outfit from Nordsjaelland last summer, and he may be set for another move before the end of August.

Antman could be Vaclav Cerny replacement at Ibrox

Vaclav Cerny’s departure from Ibrox has left a massive void on the right wing at the Gers, and they undoubtedly need a quality replacement.

Djeidi Gassama replaced Findlay Curtis as Rangers beat Panathinaikos, and it looks like Russell Martin will play him on the left side of attack.

Antman proved his qualities at Go Ahead Eagles last season, and he may be ready to take the next step in his career, as European football beckons in Glasgow.

Only time will tell whether the Gers will secure a deal for the Finnish forward, and fans will certainly be keeping a close eye on the developments.
