Rak-Sakyi transfer twist emerges as Rangers loan bid on table

Crystal Palace forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has emerged as a target for Russell Martin at Rangers this transfer window.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Sheffield United and caught a lot of people’s attention with his performances in the EFL Championship.

David Ornstein reported (24 July) that Rak-Sakyi was being targeted by the Gers, and a loan deal with an obligation to buy for £10million had been rejected by the Eagles.

Subsequently, Chris Jack refuted claims of an obligation at Ibrox in a potential offer for the English forward, with options of around £8m being explored, but another twist has emerged.

Rangers loan offer for Rak-Sakyi on table as no obligation mentioned

Palace have received a loan offer from the Gers to sign Rak-Sakyi this summer, according to The Scottish Sun.

The news outlet reports (24 July) that the Gers’ bid for the 22-year-old’s temporary move to Ibrox remains on the table at Selhurst Park, but there’s no mention of an obligation or an option to buy him.

It’s been claimed that the Eagles prefer the Englishman’s permanent sale before the end of August, with a £10m price tag on his head.

While Martin has made an attempt to get the right-winger to the Glaswegian outfit, the South London club won’t sanction a deal at this stage.

Kevin Thelwell may need funds from exits to sanction Rak-Sakyi transfer

Ibrox News understand Palace will demand at least £15m for Rak Sakyi in the ongoing transfer window.

With Southampton and Wolves also interested in the 22-year-old, the Gers will undoubtedly have to dig deep to compete financially with the English outfits.

Kevin Thelwell may be working on a way to fund a transfer for the English forward as Martin looks keen to have him in G51.

Rangers could make a hefty profit on Hamza Igamane in the coming weeks, and they may be able to use those funds to complete a deal for Rak Sakyi.

With the likes of Feyenoord willing to pay big money for the Morocco international this summer, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave.

The Light Blues arguably need to focus on bolstering their attack after making several additions to their defence and midfield, but it remains to be seen whether the Palace attacker will sign for them.
