Rangers shoud get Sykes to play for the Under-18s side

Rangers must sign Sykes to bolster their long-term attacking options and align with Russell Martin’s vision of building a sustainable, competitive squad.

The 16-year-old’s prolific record for Cardiff’s youth teams last season, including hat-tricks against Wigan and Exeter, demonstrates his exceptional goal-scoring talent and potential to develop into a first-team star.

Signing Sykes for a reduced cross-border compensation fee represents a low-risk, high-reward investment, especially as he’s yet to sign a professional contract.

In general, signing talented youngsters like Sykes is crucial for clubs like the Ibrox outfit, as it fosters a robust academy pipeline, reduces reliance on expensive senior signings and aligns with a player-trading model that can generate future profits.

Young prospects bring energy, adaptability and long-term value, ensuring Gers remain competitive in the Scottish Premiership while building a foundation for sustained success.
