Rangers given ‘all clear’ to seal Weslley Patati transfer
This story includes exclusive opinion from injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar.
Rangers are reportedly interested in securing the services of Maccabi Tel Aviv winger Weslley Patati in the coming weeks.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has gauged the 21-year-old’s game time and fitness over the course of the 2024/25 season ahead of a potential medical.
He scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 39 games in all competitions last season.

Weslley Patati expected to clear pre-transfer medical
The Brazilian is not expected to face any issues clearing his medical ahead of a potential transfer to Ibrox, according to Dr Brar.
Rangers are ready to make a bid for Patati and they may have to shell out £8million to secure his services. [ONE, 5 July]

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, exclusively told Ibrox News: “There undoubtedly will be the extra adaptation time they have to take into consideration.
“He’s also 21 and while he’s got decent senior experience, it’s a different ball game in the United Kingdom, with the weather and the tempo.
“I do not see him facing issues with his medical, however, as he recovered relatively quickly from what seemed to be a minor injury last season.”

Rangers may not be able to afford Patati’s services
Patati would be an excellent signing for Rangers, offering flair and versatility.
His 13 goals and 10 assists last season showcase his ability to deliver in the final third.
His left-footed skill, cutting in from the right, fills the void left by Vaclav Cerny, while his Europa League experience suits Gers’ ambitions.
However, the Israeli side’s valuation remains steep for the Ibrox outfit’s budget, especially with other targets like Dor Turgeman.
Without Champions League funds, £8million is likely unaffordable, so it remains to be seen how they go about this pursuit.
