Alieu Fadera ‘to clear medical’ amid Rangers transfer development

Russell Martin wants Rangers to sign a new forward this summer and Alieu Fadera has been linked with a move.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has gauged the Como winger’s fitness record in recent years ahead of a potential medical this summer.

Last season, the 23-year-old played 28 league games, but found the back of the net just once and provided four assists.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, exclusively told Ibrox News“His game time towards the back end of the season was erratic, but he did face injury issues, so that’s always a positive.

“I do not see him facing any issues with his medical.

“However, it may take him a few weeks of first-team football to adapt to the Scottish league given the changes in tempo and physicality.”

Rangers can do better than Fadera

Rangers should avoid signing Fadera due to his inconsistent attacking output, which falls short of the quality needed to compete with Celtic in the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership.

His modest goal and assist contributions across spells at Zulte Waregem, KRC Genk, Pohronie and Como highlight a lack of clinical edge for a winger expected to shine in high-pressure matches.

The Ibrox outfit require a dynamic attacker capable of delivering consistent goals and creativity to close the gap on their rivals.

Instead of Fadera, they should target proven talents with stronger records, such as players from top European leagues who can provide the immediate impact needed to challenge for the title and elevate the squad’s ambitions.
