Udinese make bid to hijack Igamane move from Rangers in new Ibrox exit twist

Hamza Igamane has been heavily linked with an exit from Rangers this summer.

While most of the focus so far this summer has been on incomings at Ibrox, of which there have been any, some attention needs to be on those who could leave in the coming weeks.

Igamane’s potential exit has been talked about all summer, having impressed for the Light Blues last season across all competitions.

Lille had been in talks to seal his arrival, with a new twist emerging in his future in Glasgow.

Lille struggles emerge as Udinese join Igamane chase

Igamane certainly seems the most likely to leave Rangers this summer, and given his valuation, it wouldn’t be the end of the world for the Gers if it were to happen.

However, it may not be an exit from Lille, after it was reported by Sacha Tavolieri via X (19 July) that Udinese have now made inquiries into his availability, alongside Everton.

The Ligue 1 side had agreed personal terms with the Moroccan forward, who seems intent on taking the next step in his career.

With more twists anticipated, it is expected that a clearer picture of his future will be painted in the next few days, with an exit still all but nailed on.

49ers must push for Igamane replacement

At this stage, it is hard to see Igamane staying at Ibrox next season, which is a big enough blow as it is given the impact he had last season.

However, the magnitude of that blow will be determined by how well the Light Blues replace him, with Dor Turgeman one of several strikers to have been linked so far this summer.

Rangers may well be waiting for his sale before they pursue a replacement, which may make sense financially, though it also presents a risk if they fail to get a deal over the line.
