Robin Propper wants ‘golden handshake’ to leave Rangers as transfer agreed
Russell Martin has been stamping his mark on his Rangers squad ahead of a crucial Champions League tie with Panathinaikos.
The key fixture with the Greek outfit has meant the 39-year-old has needed to complete his business early.
As well as signings, there has been significant talk of departures at Ibrox, with Cyriel Dessers, Mohamed Diomande, and Hamza Igamane all linked with a Rangers exit.
Another player who has been mooted for a departure is Robin Propper, and there has been an intriguing update on his future.

Propper makes terms clear amid Rangers exit talk
Propper has been strongly linked with a return to FC Twente, although there have been concerns the move could fall through as compensation talks drag on.
BBC presenter Bobby Nwanze laid into Propper and accused him of mugging the Gers off regarding the situation.
Last season, the 31-year-old made 27 Scottish Premiership appearances, but has been criticised for his performances.
| Robin Propper’s 2024/25 Scottish Premiership statistics | Total |
| Appearances (starts) | 27 (22) |
| Goals | 2 |
| Touches | 76.8 |
| Accurate passes | 57.9 (89%) |
| Clean sheets | 5 |
| Total duels won | 5.6 (63%) |
Furthermore, the Dutchman came in for a damning review in Rangers’ opening pre-season match against Club Brugge.
Now, the centre back has made it clear that he will not be agreeing to a £1.5million move back to Twente until he has been given a golden handshake, according to the Daily Record’s Andy Newport (19 July, page 57).
The journalist reports that his former employer is unable to match his current Ibrox terms.
This means that the Dutchman will almost certainly be a Gers player for the Panathinaikos double-header, although he is unlikely to feature.

The Gers frustrated by Propper situation
When it is known that a player is no longer needed or wanted by a club, a quick solution is the best remedy.
However, that is not proving to be the case with Propper, who is making difficult demands ahead of a proposed exit.
The defender surely has no future in Glasgow after several centre backs have arrived during this window.
Moreover, Rangers will be banking on securing valuable funds from the 31-year-old, which could help elevate Martin’s squad.
As it stands, Propper is no closer to an Ibrox goodbye.
