Ridvan Yilmaz ‘has played his last Rangers game’ with announcement made
Ridvan Yilmaz now appears to have one foot out of the door at Rangers and could leave in the coming weeks.
Since moving to Ibrox, while showing promise, the Turkey international has struggled to go on a run for months, where he’s maintained his fitness and form.
Every window, he keeps getting linked with an exit, but this summer, he could actually leave the club for good.

Ridvan Yilmaz not part of the squad to face Panathinaikos
Russell Martin will get his first taste of professional football as Gers manager when his side takes on Panathinaikos on Tuesday night.
This will be a Champions League qualifier, so there’s undoubtedly a lot riding on the game.
Club | Matches | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|
Rangers | 77 | 2 | 6 |
Besiktas | 62 | 4 | 7 |
A number of new signings have been integrated with the team and are part of pre-season training and matches, and some of them could even make their first-team debuts in the European contest.
However, one player who will not be part of the side is Yilmaz.
Jefte is the only out-and-out left-back included in the squad, with the other defenders being Max Aarons, Nasser Djiga, Emmanuel Fernandez, Leon King, John Souttar and James Tavernier.
Rangers need to cash in on Yilmaz
Rangers desperately need the funds to strengthen this summer and in the coming years, so they need to cash in on players when they can.
Yilmaz has been linked with an Ibrox exit and the club need to capitalise on potential interest from Turkey and sell him in the coming weeks.
Besiktas have been perennially linked with the 24-year-old and with him previously achieving success there, a reunion can never be ruled out.
As the Turkey international is still in his mid-20s, he will get better and the Turkish game may suit him as he’ll look to become a regular for the national side.
An exit would also benefit Gers as they’ll be able to recoup some of the money they spent when they signed him back in 2022.
