Rangers given ‘green light’ to seal Josh Windass transfer

Rangers are keen on securing the services of an attacker this summer, with Sheffield Wednesday frontman Josh Windass emerging as a potential target.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has gauged the 31-year-old’s game time and fitness records from recent seasons ahead of a potential medical.

Last season, Windass played 44 out of 46 league games for the Hillsborough outfit.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, exclusively told Ibrox News“He played 44 out of 46 games last season, which is impressive, to say the least.

“I see him facing no issues with his medical.

“At 31, he may arguably be past his physical peak, but he should adapt well to the Scottish game and is unlikely to need monitored minutes to help him settle.”

Rangers must consider bringing Windass back to Ibrox

Windass’ potential return to Rangers would complement Martin’s squad by adding proven attacking versatility and experience to a side chasing the Scottish Premiership.

The 31-year-old thrives as an attacking midfielder as well as a forward, offering much-needed versatility.

His 13 goals and five assists in 44 Championship games last season demonstrate his goal-scoring and creative edge, ideal for Martin’s high-pressing, dynamic system.

Windass’ familiarity with the Ibrox outfit, work rate and knack for decisive moments would bolster squad depth amid doubts over Cyriel Dessers.

With Sheffield Wednesday’s financial turmoil, a cost-effective deal could enhance Gers’ title bid.
