Abdoulaye Doucoure reacts as Rangers officially confirm new transfer
Rangers are not messing around as they undergo a substantial summer of change under Russell Martin.
There has been a wealth of new arrivals as the Ibrox club prepare for a defining Champions League double-header with Panathinaikos.
Martin has utilised the English market during the window, with Joe Rothwell one of several arrivals from the Premier League.
Now, the Gers have officially announced a new signing, and free agent Abdoulaye Doucoure has reacted.

Rangers sign another player ahead of Panathinaikos tie
Martin has used pre-season to judge his current squad, with Rangers playing Club Brugge, Barnsley, and Dunfermline.
The former Southampton boss has given opportunities to a wealth of players, with some set for the Ibrox exit door.
A host of new signings from the English leagues have made appearances so far, with Max Aarons, Thelo Aasgaard, and Nasser Djiga among those playing.
They could soon be joined on the pitch by another new arrival after the Bears confirmed yet another signing.
Rangers announced the signing of Djeidi Gassama on their Instagram account (15 July) from Sheffield Wednesday on a four-year deal.
Djeidi Gassama’s 2024/25 Championship statistics | Total |
Appearances (starts) | 43 (36) |
Goals | 7 |
Expected goals (xG) | 5.92 |
Assists | 1 |
Expected assists | 2.54 |
Goal conversion | 10% |
Several players welcomed the new signing, with Doucoure liking the post of his fellow Frenchman.
Sunderland duo Eliezer Mayenda and Abdoullah Ba also liked the post, as well as current Rangers man Danilo.
Gassama has potential to succeed at Ibrox
Gassama has joined Aasgaard and Emmanuel Fernandez in signing from the Championship.
The 21-year-old spent two years at Wednesday, having signed from PSG in the summer of 2023.
Gassama produced some encouraging numbers during his time with the Owls and notched eight goal contributions in the Championship last season.
The winger showed that he has an eye for goal and outscored his expected goals, with a healthy goal conversion rate.
During his time with PSG, the Frenchman demonstrated his goalscoring ability at youth level, with 27 goals during the 2021/22 season.
Gassama’s former employer, Sheffield Wednesday, are going through a turbulent time, with the futures of several players in doubt.
Now, the 21-year-old is set to showcase his talent under Martin in Glasgow.
